How I Got Into Music

Music has always been in my blood. Since I was little (think preschool!), I'd hum along to any song, even if it was new. It was like I could instinctively feel the melody. There's a funny story from elementary school music class. The teacher was introducing The Beatles (yes, that dates me!), and as he played, I started humming along. Turns out, I'd never heard the song before, but I just "felt" where it went.

Drums were a different story. Let's just say they weren't the quietest addition to the house! But in high school, I channeled that energy into the jazz band. Playing drums taught me a ton about music, and it was amazing to perform with the band, even traveling to Russia and Armenia on a two-week tour.

But, my first love remained the voice.
My musical journey has been rich and varied. I've collaborated with a wide range of singers and musicians, both locally and internationally. Each experience has honed my craft and fueled my passion for music. From fronting bands to performing in a cappella groups, recording my own music, and even directing choirs and hosting karaoke nights, I've embraced many facets of the musical world. These experiences have given me a well-rounded understanding of music and performance that I can share with others.

"It gives you a feeling of great satisfaction and joy knowing that you can reach deep down into yourself, and return, to share that part of you with someone else. This is what it means to be an Artist. As Artists, we have the ability to let people see the beauty that we see; to feel the emotions that we feel. We are the magic makers of the world, weaving our tapestries of thought and emotion, creating positive change in those we touch."
